The Importance of Regular Mammograms

Mammograms are one of the most important health screenings that women ages 40 and older can have.

Not only do mammograms detect changes in a woman’s breast health well before an abnormal mass can be felt, but the average five-year survival rate for women who are diagnosed and treated early is 98% (when breast cancer is detected in its earliest stages).

While annual mammograms can dramatically increase a woman’s chances of overcoming breast cancer if the disease develops, mammography and early detection can also decrease the need for extensive, late-stage breast cancer treatments and allows for improved breast conservation.

The Saint Joseph Hospital mobile mammography van serves locations throughout Colorado’s Front Range. Fill out the form below to schedule your appointment.

The Saint Joseph Hospital Mobile Mammography Van accepts most commercial insurance plans with the exception of Kaiser Permanente. Mammograms are fully paid by most insurance companies for women age 40 and older.

In the event that a woman does not have insurance coverage, Saint Joseph Hospital also offers affordable self-pay options.

Requested Event Date (required)

*Only screening mammograms (routine, annual exams for women with no current breast problems) are offered by our mobile mammography unit. A screening mammogram can be performed for women 35 to 40 if there is a family history of breast cancer. Women between these ages are only allowed one mammogram without a physician’s referral. Otherwise, women ages 40 or older can get a screening mammogram once a year. If younger, a physician referral is required for a diagnostic mammogram, which cannot be performed on the mobile unit.
